Rinse beets well, trim tops and bottoms, and peel. Cut the beets into wedges or chunks and set aside. Wash and scrub the turmeric. Peel, if desired. (I don't usually peel them.) Rinse the cilantro several times in cool water to remove any sand. Sort through and remove any yellowed leaves and trim the ends of the stems.
According to manufacturer's directions, put the beets, ginger, turmeric, and cilantro through the juicer. Pour into a serving glass and stir in the the fresh lemon juice. (Alternatively, you can cut the lemons into wedges and put them through the juicer.) Add a sprinkle of fresh ground black pepper and cayenne. Drink immediately or put in the fridge for a few hours to chill.
