Happy New Year to you all! Thanks for reading.
I’m still working on renovating the ol’ blog. It’s taking me longer than I originally planned. So, I will still post a few recipes now and then while I finish up.
In other news, part of my absence has been due to some pretty intense morning sickness. I’m starting to feel like I’m getting back to normal. Well, more like 80%. And it is hard to even think about food and cooking when each day (all day) is filled with nausea.
I’m already experiencing food aversions–which makes me a little sad. One food aversion being chocolate. What? Who am I??? All my holiday baking fell by the wayside because of this.
Now that I’m feeling a little better, I have been going back to planning weekly menus, which I haven’t really posted much on this site.
I really love Cooking Light, Epicurious, and a few other sites. Cooking Light has a great feature that allows you to add recipes to a menu and then you can print out your shopping list and head to the store. I love this feature. It’s great for busy moms who can barely manage to take their two small children to the grocery store–or is that only me?
This week’s menu comes mostly from Epicurious. I’ve been heading back towards same old, same old rather than adventurous.
Oh, and hamburgers in January? Yes. They are my pregnancy staple and I must eat them at least once a week.
The Menu
Regular Old Taco Salad with choice of Chicken or Beef, black beans, corn, shredded cheese, tomatoes
Hamburgers with Oven Baked Fries
Chicken Paprikash (Slow Cooker) with Spaezle
Mustard Seed-Crusted Salmon with Rice Pilaf (mix from Trader Joes)

Congratulations! Glad you’re back!
food and morning sickness … bad combo. love your posting.
Congratulations! Nice to have you back in the blogging world. Hope you get feeling better.
I love the Cooking Light magazine but have never checked out their website. Thanks for the tip.
I’ll be honest. I have barely cooked for the past 6 months. Between morning sickness and memories of morning sickness it has been pretty sad around here. I did make your brownie cookies yesterday (for a party) and was bombarded with compliments at church today. Thanks!
I feel for ya sista! It’s been a rough 22 weeks for me as well. I wish I could do hamburgers, but I can’t bear to look at them.
Yum…the menu sounds great. Sorry about the morning sickness.
Hello Lindsey,
In the last few months, you may remember receiving an email invitation to become a part of the Foodbuzz Featured Publisher Program. With all the recipe-writing and food photography to be completed, we know emails can easily get lost in the shuffle, so Foodbuzz would like to re-extend our offer of inviting you to be a part of our food blogger network. I would love to send you more details about the program, so if you are interested, please email me at Shannon@foodbuzz.com.
Menu looks great for the week.
Cheers!
