I would feel remiss if I didn’t post what I’m making for Thanksgiving this year.
And we are actually attending two Thanksgiving dinners–one tomorrow and one on Friday. I’m making different things for each meal.
Thursday:
Mixed Greens with Dried Black Currants and Toasted Hazelnuts
Lion House and Cooks’ Illustrated Crescent Rolls with Raspberry Honey Butter (I made a batch of each type of roll as a test)
Herb and Gruyere Thumbprints (the same recipe as I made for the baby shower–recipe coming soon!)
Fresh Cranberry Sauce
Cranberry Chutney
Banoffee Pie (recipe and photos coming soon!)
Homemade Mince Pie with Hard Sauce (another recipe to come…)
Buttered Cider Sauce (for the ham we will eat in addition to turkey)
Friday:
Cooks’ Illustrated Sausage Cornbread Stuffing (was going to make it for Thursday, but didn’t think I’d have enough time….I may not get to it)
Spinach Salad with Creamy Apple Poppyseed Dressing
Black Raspberry Galette
Pear and Dried Cherry Galette
Oatmeal Pecan Pie (made with a pat-in-the pan shortbread crust)
I’ll be posting the recipes as soon as I can get around to it. I know what you are thinking–empty promises. But, if you knew how many pictures and recipes I’ve been editing with such good intentions….if only my children didn’t need to be fed and have their diapers changed. And if they couldn’t reach the contraband…..
Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!
