Hot Fudge Sauce

Hot Fudge Sauce
original recipe

Ingredients:
1 stick butter
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
a little regular milk to thin, optional

Instructions:
Melt the butter in a small sauce pan; turn off the heat. Sift the cocoa to remove any lumps and add to the melted butter. Whisk until smooth. Add the sweetened condensed milk, whisking again until smooth and well blended. Turn the heat back on to low/medium and add the chocolate chips and stir constantly until the chips are melted. The sauce will thicken a bit, add a little milk if you want a thinner sauce. Be very careful not to let the bottom of the pan burn or you will have a very bitter sauce.

Serve warm over ice cream, pound cake, or other dessert.

Store in the refrigerator. Makes approximately 2 cups of sauce.
