I love to go to Utah and stay with Fred’s Aunt Robin. She is an awesome cook. She’s far more adventurous and creative in the kitchen than I am, and I have ripped off many of her recipes over the years. This one is by far one of our favorites. I make it at least twice a month.
Aunt Robbie’s Teriyaki Sauce
Ingredients:
1 cup Polynesian soy sauce (regular soy will work, too)
1 cup white sugar
1 cup water
fresh ginger and garlic, minced (to your taste)
Instructions:
Mix well to dissolve sugar. Use as a condiment or as a marinade for chicken, beef, or pork.
We like to make this sauce and keep it in the fridge so it’s ready at a moment’s notice. Sometimes I will add red pepper flakes, lime juice, and a little oil when I’m using it to marinate chicken or beef.
