Holiday Glazed Ham

Holiday Glazed Ham

Ingredients:

1 spiral sliced ham (not fresh, one that has been precooked)

For glaze:

juice of 1 orange
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp each: ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg
1/8 tsp. each: allspice, cloves

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine glaze ingredients in a small saucepan. Heat, while stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and set aside until ready to use.

Place the ham in a roasting pan. Brush the outside of the entire ham with the glaze. Cover the pan tightly with foil. Bake for between 15-20 minutes. Remove foil and drizzle or brush the ham with a bit more glaze. Replace foil and reduce temperature to 250 degrees F. Bake for another hour or so, basting the ham every 15 minutes with the remaining glaze.

Remove ham to a serving platter and carve. Drizzle the ham with a bit of the juices from the bottom of the roasting pan. Serve hot or warm.

**We think this would go very well with Cranberry Chutney.
