How it is already Christmas Eve? We’ve been running around like mad trying to finish up a few things so we can enjoy the next two weeks spending time together as a family. Winter Recess began on Friday afternoon. We starting it off with haircuts and a snowball fight. We finally put up our Christmas tree – just in the nick of time! My poor kids have had to wait patiently for us to get our act together, but it’s feeling a lot more Christmas-y now. :)

Here are some things I’ve been meaning to tell you….
Last week we visited The Leonardo in Salt Lake City to see the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit. SLC is only one of 10 U.S. museums to host the exhibit. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area or will be visiting between now and April 2014. It would be a great Winter Recess Activity.
Speaking of Winter Recess activities, I planned ahead this year! My kids are always saying how bored they are, but I’m armed with a bunch of fun edible crafts (and other crafts too!) to keep them busy during the school break. For lunch we’re making snowman pizza with a pepperoni scarf and a few other fun kid-friendly foods before we head out for our family Christmas Eve party.

I’m so last-minute this year! I’m heading out to the grocery store for a few things. I’m definitely picking up some strawberries and grapes to make these darling Grinch Kabobs. I think the kids at our party are going to go wild for them.
I’ve also been on the search for breakfast ideas to keep things interesting. Plus we have a little extra time in the mornings to have a nice, hot breakfast. How cute is this Snowman breakfast?!
And my other contributor posts from the last week or so:
Lastly, I’ve been planning some new things for Cafe Johnsonia next year. I hope you’ll be as excited as I am. Thank you so much for stopping by and for your support. It means a lot to me. I greatly value the friendships and the connections I’ve been able to make with you over the years. I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas!
I’ll be back on Thursday with a new recipe! xoxo
