Gluten-Free Favorites: Shirley J Mugging GF Chocolate Brownie Cakes and GF Whisk Bliss

Congratulations to Erin!

So, I thought it would be a lot of fun to start a new column of sorts highlighting my favorite gluten-free products, tips, etc.  Can I just tell you that the gluten-free products I’m finding are so much more amazing than they were even a few years ago when I first stopped eating gluten?  And that’s important because either you or someone you know, or even a dozen people you know, might be living gluten-free.  It ain’t easy, my friends.  And more people than ever before are ditching gluten.  (And feeling better, hopefully.)

To start things off with a bang, I want to share two of my very favorite GF products, which happen to be from Shirley JGF Chocolate Brownie Cakes (mugging rocks!) and GF Whisk Bliss.  I won’t tell you how many times a week I have a mug o’ delicious chocolatey goodness for dessert.  But I will say that it’s more than once.

I use Whisk Bliss as a base for sauces, soups and gravies.  It’s a total time-saver and game-changer.  My gluten-free bechamel hasn’t been very palatable, so I needed some help.  (My husband will be the first one to say it–this stuff is GOOD.)

Now back to the Mugging.  In only 90 seconds, I can have gluten-free chocolate cake.  I don’t have to pull out a mixer.  I don’t need to measure anything except for the water and extra chocolate chunks.  But I don’t really measure the chocolate.  I just had a nice handful.  :)

One mug is two servings.  Perfect for a night in with my hubby while we’re watching a show.  Perfect for a special afternoon snack when the kids come home from school.  My three share one mug between them.

I asked my friends at Shirley J if they would help me out, as this is my first post of this series and do a fun giveaway.  Now, even if you aren’t gluten-free you should enter because once again, as my non-GF husband (and children!) will tell you, both of these products have rocked our world.

This giveaway is now closed.

  1. You know I love these two products.

I’ve use both the gluten free and original version of each product and I’m here to say they are almost identical. It’s amazing. I may even like the GF Chocolate Brownie Mugging better than the original. :)

Next time I make a Chocolate Mugging, I’m going to add some salted caramel sauce after it bakes.

    Lovely photos. Seriously!

  2. I can’t think of anything more perfect for when I want a treat. Instead of making a whole batch of sweet perfection (of which I tend to eat at least half) these will keep me in check. :)

  3. I have not seen these in the supermarkets in Sioux Falls, but when I DO see them, I definitely will try them!!

  4. I want to win this–perfect for my MIL visiting! I have never seen Shirley J in Georgia, so I will have to check out some things online (If I don’t win.) (I WILL WIN.)

  5. Just diagnosed with a few things and am looking in to the GF thing. This would be great to get me going and not feel like it’s the end of the world (or the end of my baking!!)
